Dr. Erela Katz Rappaport

Dr. Erela Katz Rappaport grew up in New York City and attended State University of New York at Binghamton, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. She then continued on to receive her dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. After dental school, Dr. Rappaport worked in dental practices in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. While in private practice, Dr. Rappaport conducted research in a various areas of dentistry including a technique to remove decay through chemical means. She also was instrumental in setting up a dental implant registry for the Office of Veterans Affairs.

Dr. Rappaport came to San Diego in 1991. She has two sons, Jonathan and Brandon. When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Rappaport is an avid gardener as well as enjoying traveling with friends and family. She is passionate about supporting organizations that empower and educate women in need of assistance.




Dr. Hatem Alassy

Dr. Alassy is specialist trained in periodontal surgery, implant surgery, gingival grafting, ridge augmentation, sinus augmentation (sinus lift), All-on-X surgery and sedation. Prior to his specialization in periodontics, Dr. Alassy had general dentistry experience since 1997. He received the Fellowship award from the American Academy of General Dentistry in 2019. Then completed his master’s degree and specialty training in periodontics at the University of Minnesota in 2021.
Dr. Alassy was an instructor at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry from 2005 to 2008, where he enjoyed teaching dental students operative dentistry. Additionally, his cosmetic dentistry training at UCLA is utilized daily in the surgical procedures he performs. Dr. Alassy published several articles in scientific journals and is currently researching diagnostics of peri-implant diseases.
Patient comfort is a priority. Dr. Alassy uses techniques to minimize or eliminate discomfort and anxiety during treatment. He takes the time to listen to his patients and provide close, personal attention to best customize their care. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys. His favorite outdoor activities include alpine skiing, biking as well as nature photography.
